The following are some of the common components which increase your back pain and these are:
a) Age: Age is one of the major components which increase back pain as over time, wear and tear on the spine that may result in conditions such as disc degeneration, spinal stenosis etc. which can increase your back pain. According to the study, back pain affects over the age of 30 to 40 years and people who are between the age group of 30 to 60 are more likely to have disc-related disorders, while people above the age of 60 years are more likely to have pain related to osteoarthritis.
b) Genetics: According to the study, there are certain types of spinal disorders which have a genetic component. For e.g. degenerative disc disease is an inherited component.
c) Working lifestyle: If your job requires repetitive bending and lifting then there are chances of increase back injury for e.g., construction worker, nurse etc. in case, you are in a job where you need to stand for long hours or sitting in a chair for long hours can increase your back pain. a) Exercise: Regularly doing exercise will prevent you from back pain. You can do low-impact aerobic activities that don’t strain or jolt your back and will increase your strength and allow your muscles to function in a better way. Walking and swimming are also considered as the best exercises which cure the back pain but before you perform any exercise you need to speak to your doctor that which activity is good for your body.
b) Build- up muscle strength and flexibility: To give strength to your muscles the abdominal and back muscle exercises are the best and these exercises work together like a natural corset for your back. These are the exercises which give flexibility to your hips and also align the upper legs of your pelvic bones to improve your back muscles. Before undergoing for these exercises speak to your doctor or physical therapist as they are the person who can tell you which exercises are right for you.
c) Maintain Body weight: If you are overweight which is more than your BMI (Body Mass Index) then it will put a strain on your back muscles. So, to prevent your body from back pain you need to cut down the extra pounds.

The following are the movements which you need to avoid that can strain your back and these are:
a) Stand properly: In case, you need to stand for long hours then place one foot on a low footstool to take some of the load off your lower back. Standing in a good posture can reduce the stress on your back muscles.
b) Sitting position: While sitting on a chair choose a seat with good lower back support, armrests, and a swivel base. You can also place a pillow on your chair which can maintain its normal curve. Keep your knees and hips level while sitting on the chair and change your position frequently, at least every half-hour.
c) Lift smartly: While lifting heavy objects try to avoid putting them on your head, let your legs do the work. Keep your back straight does not twist or bend at the knees. Hold the load close to your body and if the object is very heavy then ask someone to help you rather than lifting it alone.

Your doctor will do some common diagnoses which indicate the back pain and these are as follows:
a) X-ray: X-ray will be done to know about your bones in the spine. Usually, doctors perform the x-ray to check the spinal instability tumors and fractures.
b) CT scan: CT is a diagnostic test which provides details about the bones in the spine. CT scan also performs to check the specific conditions, such as a herniated disc or spinal stenosis. CT scans tend to be less accurate for spinal disorders as compared to MRI scans.
c) MRI scans: This is a diagnostic procedure which is useful to assess certain conditions by providing detail of the intervertebral disc and nerve roots. With the help of MRI scans your doctor will able to find out spinal infections or tumors.
